I've been on three halibut charters now and I would rank this one in the middle. The crew is professional but not fun. They go to a spot that gets everyone 2 fish but no big fish. Other boats the captain is loud and telling crazy stories so we are entertained between bites. Not the case on this boat. Also you pay the same here for a half day that you pay in homer where you can get the big ones and do a full day on the water. Also, on other charters, if everyone limits out quickly they will let you fish for other species. Not the case here. So if you just want a boring charter and don't mind small fish this would be a great trip and you still have more than half a day left after you finish fishing. We got back to camp by 10am. The campground is nice. No view but it's well kept. Other then being a camp ground and a place for the sports fisherman, but offer showers and washer/dryers to use as well. now to keep them open during the winter....Clean clothes and showers! :) Big Brian was simply tremendous. He patiently took all the time in the world to explain all of the intricacies of fishing for King Salmon. We did reel one in but the cool thing about Brian is he rightly recognized it was a "wild" and our day was not allowable for keeping the wild so he had us release. I admire his ethics. Lastly, he recognized how much my 14 year old wanted to get his first big catch and stayed out with us until we were literally the last on the river. Greatly appreciated Overall great experience. Accomodating crew and up-to-date gear. Knowledgeable about fishing locations and techniques. We had a great time with an attentive and courteous crew. Our party of 8 was able to expirence a wonderful day filled with sea otter sightings, whale watching, and a boat filled with delicious halibut.
